# Asset attribution — Flash Turbo Signer docs site

Every third-party file in `docs/site/assets/` is listed here with its source, its
author and the licence it is used under. Nothing ships in this folder that is
"found on the internet" without a recorded licence.

Rule for this folder: **only public domain, CC0 or CC BY assets.** No CC BY-SA
(share-alike would attach conditions to the site itself), no "free for personal
use" stock, and no fair-use logos.

## Brand logos

Brand names and marks belong to their owners. They appear on the site only to
state which drivers and readers the application works with — see the disclaimer
printed on the home page and the compatibility page. Flash Turbo Signer is an
independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any
token vendor or by Adobe.

**Vendors with no freely-licensed logo available.** No public-domain or
CC-licensed logo file could be found for Watchdata, Feitian, Hypersecu, M-Token
or InnaIT/Precision. Those brands are shown in the brand strip as a neutral
self-drawn badge (a card glyph on a gradient) beside the brand name and its
PKCS#11 library — no vendor artwork is reproduced or imitated.

To use an official logo instead, obtain the file from the vendor's own brand or
partner kit, drop it into `assets/logos/`, and swap the badge markup in
`index.html` and `compatibility.html`:

Keeping `alt=""` and `aria-hidden="true"` is deliberate: the brand name is already
in the adjacent text, so the logo is decoration. Add the new file to the table
above in the same commit.

Attribution obligations are met in two places: each CC BY photograph used in a
figure carries its author in the caption, and every page footer carries the
credit line pointing at this file. If a photograph is added or swapped, update
the footer credit on the pages that show it, not just this table.

Photographs are decorative. They make no product claim, so they are marked
`aria-hidden="true"` when used as a banner background, and the heading alone
carries the meaning of each page.

## How these were obtained

Retrieved through the Wikimedia Commons API with the licence checked **before**
download (`imageinfo` → `extmetadata.LicenseShortName`); anything whose licence
was not public domain, CC0 or CC BY was skipped rather than used. The
reconnaissance and download scripts were run outside the repository and are not
committed — the record lives in this file.

Photographs are stored at a 1600px width, which is the widest they are ever
rendered (banner backgrounds and single figures).
